Manhattan Academy for Arts and Language prepares English Language Learners for a successful future by offering unique opportunities for students to excel in Regents exams, Advanced Placement courses, early college experiences, and on-time graduation. MAAL embraces students from all over the world and motivates them by balancing rigorous instruction, individualized attention, and focused language development. The arts are integrated in various content classes. 


Students learn core academic subjects through the integration of the fine and performing arts.  The instructional model is student-centered with a focus on differentiated instruction. Two programs are offered; a Freestanding ESL and Transitional Bilingual Program in Spanish. Our multilingual staff is prepared to meet the needs of a diverse range of ELLs and to prepare them for post secondary education.


Upon graduation students will have completed fifty-two hours of community service. Community service and volunteering foster personal growth through service to others. Students will have many opportunities to participate in community service.
